*-* at Catalyst Arts

an artistic contribution to Catalyst Arts Co-Director Husk Bennett’s Director Show,
Catalyst Arts; Belfast [November 2024]
This project was generously supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland through the National Lottery, the Belfast School of Art, and Rí-Rá Irish Lager.
From Husk Bennett, Director of Catalyst Arts & Curator of *-*:
*-* interrogates an interplay of labour, identity and production within contemporary practices. Highlighting a lens of constant construction, the space is left open, and thematically broad, to commemorate, and to allow space for, thought and engagements throughout *-*’s run. The show considers where we are, where we’ve been and speculates a future for organisations and institutions in the modern age; not so much a critique as a ~dream~.

Aligning with the show's interrogation into artist-led practice and output, varying forms of creative labour and how we utilise / navigate spaces we're super excited to have the opportunity be joined by Tailtiu, Son Zept, mima, Acid Guy & to invite Reuben Brown to install a new immersive visual experience responding to *-* as part of the 175th anniversary of Belfast School of Art.
